Job Description/Responsibilities

The Systems Engineering group at Achronix has an open position for a lab technician to work with the team on making Achronix FPGA products the most compelling solution to our customers’ requirements. Achronix focuses on high-performance FPGA solutions in the form of stand-alone FPGAs, embedded FPGAs and chiplets, manufactured on a variety of technology nodes ranging from modern to cutting-edge. Achronix is known for having been the first to deliver FPGAs with hardened protocol controllers, the first FinFET FPGAs, the first successfully deployed embedded FPGA IP, the first highly integrated design flow, and so on.

This position focuses on the highly important tasks and projects in our labs in Santa Clara to bring up, validate and characterize our production and test chips which are made using 7nm technology and beyond. These highly advanced products contain very high end, high-speed serial interfaces like 400Gb/s Ethernet, PCIe Gen5 and high performance memory interfaces. The core of these chips consists of large amounts of programmable logic, surrounded by very high bandwidth protocol controllers and PHYs. Our customers demand the highest quality and performance, and this is where the work in our labs is essential in satisfying these requirements.

  • Lab Measurements, data collection, recording and reporting of results
  • Lab part screening
  • Rework and upgrading of boards
  • Configure lab stations for bringup, validation and characterization
  • Prepare and perform experiments
  • Assist with purchase of lab and board components and equipment
Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Skills
  • Must be local to Santa Clara area
  • 3 years of relevant experience
  • Strong attention to detail and meticulous execution of measurement procedures
  • Experience with lab measurement equipment — high-end oscilloscope experience is a plus
  • Experience with data entry and management software like Excel or JMP, as well as office software for creation of reports
  • Proficiency with interpreting schematic diagrams and PCB layouts using viewer tools
  • PCB soldering experience of very small components
  • Experience with prevention of electrostatic damage to highly sensitive components and measurement equipment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Work with flexible schedules
  • Physical ability to perform lab work including moving of equipment
  • Experience with FPGAs is a plus
  • Associate degree in EE preferred
