The Achronix digital-visual-interface (DVI) adapter card allows customers to evaluate the extensive video processing capabilities of Speedster® FPGAs, including compression/decompression with configurable image quality, brightness adjustment, picture-in-picture (PIP), aspect ratio conversion, and color space conversion.
The DVI adapter card plugs into any of the Hi-Speed Extension headers located on the SDK60 board, allowing video signals to be brought directly into and out of the development system via the standard DVI connectors. The adapter card acts as a video port expander, deserializing the DVI input stream for input into the FPGA, and serializing the FPGA output stream for DVI transmission.
Resident on the card is a high-performance receiver/transmitter pair to handle the conversion to/from the DVI standard. Configuration of these devices is performed via the high-speed connector under the control of the FPGA.
With the DVI adapter card, customers can quickly and easily build prototype systems supporting both evaluation of Speedster FPGA video performance as well as algorithm development.
